The Watertown Rapids had the crowd on their feet in the bottom of the ninth as the team had
runners on first and second trailing by just one to the Trail Blazers. Unfortunately, the team fell
just short as Adirondack pitcher Jacob Meyers got Watertown’s Alex Mumme to fly out.

The Rapids top three hitters Daniel Little, William Heurtin and Bailey Lewis combined for seven
hits and six runs scored. Xavier Czepiel provided three quality innings out of the bullpen for
Watertown to close the game only allowing one hit and striking out two. Lucas Stalman picked
up three hits in five at-bats for the Trail Blazers in the win.

Despite the loss, Watertown remains well in the playoff hunt. With a Utica loss to Mohawk
Valley the Rapids remain tied with the Blue Sox for second in the central division. Watertown
has three games remaining to try and lock up a playoff spot. The team returns home Monday
night looking to seek revenge on the Trail Blazers and continue their fight for the playoffs.
