Screen Shot 2018-07-31 at 10.16.16 PM.jpgThe terms were simple, a win got the Rapids into the playoffs, a loss sent them home. On
Tuesday night, Watertown clinched a playoff birth in its' inaugural season by defeating
Saugerties 9-3. Now the Rapids will look to keep the party going in the playoffs.

Jack Buckley pitched six strong innings, waving eight batters in the process of picking up the
win. The Rapids brought across four runs in the first inning and never looked back. Nick Bosma
and William Heurtin each had two hits and an RBI in the win.

Now that the Rapids are officially in, they will have to refocus quickly as they head to
Mohawk Valley Wednesday night in a one game playoff series against the defending champions.
Watertown and the DiamondDawgs have played tight games all year and tomorrow should be
another strong battle. Regardless of results in the upcoming days, the Rapids have made history in
their first season as a team. The support from the fans in the final regualr season game was tremendous and the energy was high all night long at the Alex Duffy Fairgrounds.
