The Watertown Rapids came away with a monumental win tonight over the Utica Blue Sox. Jack Buckley was the story of the night. Buckley had fans on the edge of their seats as he carried a no hitter into the top of the eighth inning. Not to mention Jack waved nine batters in the process. Buckley exited to a standing ovation after 7.2 innings of work.

Troy Nabb pitched five innings for the Blue Sox, while teammate Patrick Bordewick reached base twice in the game. Nick Bosma tallied three RBI’s for Watertown, including a two RBI single in the seventh to put the game out of reach. Kenny Bergmann, Andrew Bacon, and Trevor Kuncl all tallied RBI’s in the win.

With the win the Rapids moved within a half game of Utica and tightened the playoff race in the Central Division. Watertown returns home on Saturday for their final firework night against the Trail Blazers at 7:05 p.m.
