The Rapids and Blue Sox gave the fans lots of excitement throughout the game. The teamsScreen Shot 2018-07-05 at 10.49.57 PM.jpgtraded leads multiple times throughout the game and kept many on the edge of their seats. In
the end, Rapids fans were left with disappointment as the team fell one run short in a 9-8 loss.

Isaiah Torres was the hot man for Utica tonight going three of four with two runs batted in. The
Rapids bats came to life in the fifth inning, bringing across five runs, including a two-run
homerun to give Watertown its first lead of the game. Utica again took the lead in the top of
the eighth, but again the Rapids answered. Trevor Kuncl crushed a ball over the left field wall to
tie the game, then Mike Russell delivered a base knock to score Bailey Lewis and give the
Rapids a lead 8-7 going into the ninth. Unfortunately, the Blue Sox gave one final shot that justcouldn’t be overcome, scoring two in the top of the ninth.

The Rapids have now dropped three straight and are in much need of a win. Watertown plays
three straight against the DiamondDawgs, including a double header tomorrow starting at 5:05.
Despite the loss, the Rapids remain a half game back to Mohawk Valley for first place after the
DiamondDawgs also lost last night.
