The Watertown Rapids prevailed 3-2 over the Geneva Red Wings on Irish Heritage Night. Addison Pawelek pitched six strong innings and picked up the win in the process. A wild pitch and RBI by Zac Miller gave Geneva a 2-1 lead after 2 innings.

University of Connecticut catcher Kenny Bergmann had an impressive day for the Rapids. Bergmann went three of four at the plate, including a single in the bottom of the sixth to give the Rapids the lead. Left fielder Julian Kurych came up with the defensive play of the night when he gunned out Nick LaBrasca of Geneva at home plate to save a run.

The Rapids improved to 14-6 overall and continue to maintain their Central Division lead over the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs. Those same DiamondDawgs come to the Fairgrounds Saturday afternoon for a 2:05 divisional matchup. Watertown will look to increase their win streak to 4 games
